Playtest Material

This class is currently being previewed for the Castaway's Guide to Yneslea.

An order whose purpose is to cleanse the souls of others, the guardians of the Temple Outposts, or Exorcists, are called to expel the unholy and banish any and all evil. Exorcists predominantly focus their ire towards ghosts, spirits, fey, and the undead, and tend to have a close working relationship with their Witch-Hunter compatriots due to the connection between mages and these types of creatures.

Exorcist Features

20th Usher the Dead

Toll the Bell

3rd-level Exorcist feature

You gain the ability to deter the undead from your sight. You utter a command that rebukes spirits and the risen flesh.

Undead creatures within 30 feet of you must make a Willpower saving throw against your spell Save DC or take radiant damage equal to a number of d10’s per your votary level. An undead creature that rolls a 1 on a d20 for this save instead takes the maximum damage from the total rolled. Undead with legendary resistance ignore this.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend a number of magicka points equal to your proficiency bonus to use this feature again.

Profession Spells

3rd-level Exorcist feature

You learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Exorcist Spells table. Each spell counts as a votary spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of votary spells you know.

Exorcist Spells
Level Spell
3rd unseen servant
5th augury
9th spirit guardians
13th banishment
17th dispel evil and good

Spirit Casting

7th-level Exorcist feature

Your unseen servant gains the ability to act as a proxy for you.

When you cast the unseen servant spell, for the duration, you can cast spells as though you were in the unseen servant's space, but you must use your own senses.

Intimidating Presence

15th-level Exorcist feature

You are always under the effects of a protection from evil and good spell.

Strength Before Death

20th-level Exorcist feature

You have become the guiding hand of death, and you usher them into the life after this. You can see invisible creatures and objects, as well as see into the Ethereal Plane, out to a range of 120 feet.

Additionally, undead creatures that move within 10 feet of you, or begin their turn within 10 feet of you, take 20 radiant damage as your very presence commands them to depart the realm of the living.

Finally, whenever you banish or destroy an undead creature from the mortal plane, it cannot return to Nirn by any means short of a wish spell.
