A necromancer deals in pain and suffering to offer power.

Painweaver Necromantic Arts

Those sadistic enough to study the Painweaver necromantic arts are creatures that delight in the suffering and transference of pain. While not all pain be needless, some hold to the stringent believe that 'pain is gain' and through these trials, greatness can rise from the refuse. Often strong proponents to the belief of the survival of the fittest, Painweavers see themselves as a means to an ends. While often considered distasteful by healers, Painweavers see themselves as far more than a remedy, but a cure for the mortal weakness of the flesh.

Dull the Pain

2nd-level Painweaver feature

When you choose this necromantic art, you gain supernatural power over pain, and dulling its effects on creatures. As an action, you can target one creature that you can see (yourself included) within 60 feet of you, and cause it to ignore some measure of pain. For the next minute, the target doesn't need to make an Endurance saving throw to maintain concentration when taking damage.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Mutual Suffering

2nd-level Painweaver feature

You bind your pain to another in vengeance to their aggression. You can expend 1 soul point, and attempt to place a curse on one creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must make a Willpower saving throw against your Spell save DC or be marked for the next minute. Whenever that creature damages you, it takes necrotic damage equal to your proficiency bonus. This mark ends early on the creature if it dies or you use this feature again to mark another target.

Health Avarice

6th-level Painweaver feature

Healing spells that are cast on others heal you as well. When another creature within 10 feet of you regains hit points from a spell of 1st level or higher being cast on it, you regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + the spell’s level. You do not gain this healing if you are the target of a healing spell.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Resistant Flesh

6th-level Painweaver feature

As a reaction to seeing a creature take damage from an attack, you can expend 1 Soul Point and the target gains resistance to the triggering damage and against all subsequent attacks made by the attacking creature with the same damage type for the rest of the turn.

14th-level Painweaver feature

As an action, one creature of your choice that you can see (yourself included), gains a ward against harmful magic. For the next hour, if the target is subjected to a spell that requires it to make a saving throw, it can instead choose to succeed this save. Once it does so, this effect ends on the target.

Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Mortal Coil

18th-level Painweaver feature

You powers over pain have neared perfection, granting even further protection. When a creature uses your Hexproof feature to succeed a saving throw, it takes no damage if the spell deals any at all.
