A Breton Knight stands at the ready during a storm

Of noble birth, or distinguished in battle or tourney, Knights are civilized warriors that are schooled in letters and courtesy, and are governed by the codes of chivalry. In addition to the arts of war, Knights study the lore of healing and enchantment.

Knights are warriors who pledge service to rulers, religious orders, and noble causes. They are known for their moralistic nature and principled behavior, pledging their honor to those who share their righteous endeavors.

Tenets of Knights

The tenets of a Knight are determined by their order, but often emphasize the following tenets:

Honor the Righteous. Employ fairness in social situations and battle. All those who are virtuous should be respected.

Protect the Merciful. The meek should be cared for and the weak shown mercy. Even your adversaries can be deserving of compassion.

Recognize the Dutiful. Act with meaning and treat your duties with deference. Acknowledge those who are accountable for their failings.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Knight devotion feature

You gain the following Channel Divinity options.

Honorable Combat. As a bonus action, you challenge a creature that you can see that is within 30 feet of you to honorable combat. You gain a bonus to your attack rolls equal to your Personality modifier when you attack this creature. This effect ends if a creature other than you attacks your target.

Knight’s Confidence. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to exude a noble and trustworthy presence. For the next 10 minutes, you have advantage on Personality (Intimidation) and Personality (Persuasion) checks.

Aura of the Aegis

7th-level Knight devotion feature

When a creature within 10 feet of you is targeted by an attack, you can use your reaction to impose a spectral projection of yourself between the target and their attacker. The creature uses your AC instead of their own, unless their AC is greater.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Divine Smite: Thunder

7th-level Knight devotion feature

Whenever you use the Divine Smite feature, you can choose to infuse your weapon strikes with thunder damage instead of radiant.

Emboldened Defense

15th-level Knight devotion feature

You learn quickly from failures to defend yourself. When you are hit by an attack, the next creature to make an attack against you within the next minute has disadvantage on its attack roll.

Exemplar’s Ward

20th-level Knight devotion feature

You can manifest a glowing protective ward that surrounds you. As a bonus action you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • When you or a creature of your choice within 30 feet takes damage, the total damage dealt is reduced by an amount equal to your Personality modifier.
  • If you or a creature within 30 feet of you fails a saving throw, it can use its reaction to reroll it. It must use this new roll.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend magicka as though you had cast a 5th-level spell to use it again.
